The Geneva Process on Small Arms

The ‘Geneva Process’ on small arms is an initiative of the Geneva Forum that involves governments, international organisations and NGOs in regular informal consultations to promote and monitor implementation of the 2001 United Nations “Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All its Aspects"

Participation in the Geneva Process is open to all UN Member States committed to the full and speedy implementation of the UN Programme of Action on small arms. States, international organisations and NGOs participate in the Geneva Process on an equal footing and on the basis of the purposes and principles set out in the initiative's Framework Document.
